Kara Zuzu:  Reflection and Retrospect - September 2 – September 30, 2023

This exhibition of Kara Zuzu sculptures both past and present comes at a moment of transition in her career as an artist, as she embarks on a 3 year advanced mentorship at Anderson Ranch Center this fall.  Kara is a Pittsburgh-based ceramic sculpture artist whose work is inspired by animals, women, and narratives from her lived experiences.

 

The Printmakers Left: Catalog - October 21 – November 18, 2023

Catalog brings together the most recent work from The Printmakers Left, a collaborative team working together for twenty years on a series of exhibitions, publications, and installations.  Catalog is a compendium of alternatives, prototypes, maps and gear, instruction manuals, animal protagonists, tools, and tales useful for navigating the foreseeable ruins.

 

Rell Rushin:  Reflections - December 2, 2023 – January 6, 2024

Pittsburgh artist Rell Rushin describes her work as being a reaction to the happenings in international pop culture, her surroundings, and daily life.  She uses a variety of mediums to cover a range of subjects relating to introversion, daydreams, African American female identity, and black representation in mass media.

 

Patricia Scharbo Barefoot - January 27 – February 24, 2024

Patricia Scharbo Barefoot uses her beautifully honed technical skill and training to explore women’s societal roles and stereotypes throughout history.  Patricia will fill the gallery with her captivating large scale drawings and paintings.

 

Joseph Lupo:  HUH? - March 9 – April 6, 2024

West Virginia University professor Joseph Lupo’s show will feature prints that use appropriated imagery and modified text from copyright free comics printed in the early 20th century. While the relationship between the appropriated imagery and constructed anagram text can be absurd, sometimes fitting, enigmatic, or even poetic, it is always meant to be read as a new narrative.

 

Dr. Eric Avery and Adam DelMarcelle:  Epidemic - April 20 – May 25, 2024

“Epidemic” is a multipart installation by printmakers Adam DelMarcelle and Dr. Eric Avery addressing the opioid epidemic.  It is an installation that aims to both educate and save lives, consisting of both artwork and an active harm reduction space. DelMarcelle describes the exhibition as “a new platform to educate the public and tear away fear and stigma.”

 

Vanessa Adams - June 8 – June 29, 2024

Vanessa Adams is a New Orleans based artist working at the intersection of print, zine, and installation to envision queer/trans futures and possibilities.  They create portals – openings for otherworldly transformation – through immersive prints and installations.
